After the last month a break was needed to recharge the batteries and get ready for the next few months which are going to be very hectic to say the least. I had a lovely couple of weeks in Cyprus with the family and it was great to see so many old friends. As I write I have started to work with our U17s who are due to play in the Asian Finals in Japan early September. On the 19th of this month the senior squad report for camp as we prepare for the trip to Japan in a World Cup Qualifier. We are scheduled to play a couple of warm up games against Indonesia on the way. I am sure Indonesia will give us a real test before we take on the might of Japan. Of course after our last outing people will naturally feel we are on a hiding to nothing but I can assure the fans in India and abroad we will do all we can to redeem ourselves.
I have also been invited to join the team at ESPN in Singapore for the Euro 2004 so am really looking forward to that as well. Then it's off to Iran to conduct a coaching course for FIFA before going on to England to finish and hopefully pass the UEFA Professional licence. There are also trips to Vietnam for the LG Cup and a friendship tour to play three games in Pakistan before we finish the World Cup Qualifiers in Singapore in September and then Oman in November. I think another break is going to be needed after that !!
