Latest Updates
August 2008
As we head in to the start of another season of football, I find myself in Cyprus having spent the last month covering the Euro 2008 Championships for LTV with in depth analysis and my take on things as they happened. It helped that my prediction Spain won the tournament and deservedly so in my opinion they were for me the most complete side and congratulations to all you Spanish supporters. The other thing that LTV did was to help raise my profile as far as retuning to Cyprus to coach a club goes, which is something that interests me as it would mean more time with my family and friends.
As I write this the season in Cyprus is 3 weeks away so I don’t expect there will be any vacancies for a while yet and so am trying to keep busy going to as many games as I can. Have been fortunate in that the Management at LTV have been happy with my contribution and so they have asked me to do some UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup games which is great as it keeps me in the spotlight and hopefully the clubs in Cyprus feel I have something to offer if and when they need me…..
I am thankfully off to conduct a course for FIFA which will keep me busy for the next month as not coaching is driving me mad. The course will be conducted in Tehran and it will be my third visit there. I am looking forward to going back and meeting old friends as I find the people there very friendly and very much into their football. It is then off to Spain on yet another FIFA assignment and this will be my first time, a country I have always wanted to visit and am really looking forward to spending a week in Madrid. I return to Cyprus on the 7th of September and will continue to look for the right opportunity home or abroad……..and hopefully soon am back doing what I do best which is coaching players and wining football games…………..
